Patient Information

Wondering what to expect on your first visit?

Upon entering our offices for your first visit, our receptionist will welcome you to our office. We will ask you to fill out our new patient forms. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information about your condition.

Next you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related problems, concerns and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for our doctors to learn more about you, your condition and expectations. After your consultation, a complete chiropractic examination will be done to test your reflexes and flexibility. Neurological, orthopedic and postural tests will also be performed. These tests are considered standard when assessing our chiropractic patients. They are non-invasive; and help us to understand the entire picture of your individual situation.

Depending on your condition, we may need to send you to a local facility for x-rays. X-rays help us to develop the most effective treatment plan for you and alert us of any serious spinal conditions.

Once the information is collected and exams performed, the doctor will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions you may have. Recommendations will be discussed and the doctor will also notify you if your condition requires a referral to another provider. Our doctors will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your individual needs.

Treatment may include spinal adjustments, adjunctive procedures and or soft tissues massage. Treatment is always interactive so you can express any concerns about the different styles of treatment. You may be sent home with instructions to avoid certain activities or positions, application of ice/heat all of which will help expedite your response to care.

From the initial exam to recovery, what are the steps?

Your initial examination includes standard orthopedic and neurological tests to diagnose the type of injury and to determine the extent of your injury. Treatment is very specific to the injury and individual. When injured, the body naturally compensates. It attempts to protect itself by tightening other muscles and joints. Unlike traditional methods of treatment, we emphasize stability and mobility in the initial phase of treatment. Then, we work to restore and maintain overall structural balance of your body-total body wellness. During this phase, you may begin doing exercises and stretches to accelerate you’re healing. Do not be discouraged if you have mild flare-ups. Flare-ups are bound to occur during this phase because your body has not fully healed. Once your body has fully healed, routine chiropractic care can help ensure that your physical problems do not return and keep your body in optimal condition. Just like continuing an exercise program and eating well in order to sustain the benefits of exercise and proper diet, it is necessary to continue chiropractic care to ensure the health of your musculoskeletal system. When routine chiropractic care is a part of your lifestyle, you avoid many of the aches and pains so many people are suffering from. Caring with concern is our philosophy for a pleasant patient experience. From the initial greeting when you walk through our front doors to the examination, treatment and billing, our goal is to make the time when you are not feeling your best as pleasant as possible. The purpose of our office is to support as many people as possible in their quest for health, to educate them about the Chiropractic alternative; and to encourage them to educate others.
